Mr. Garcia has over 17 years of experience in public accounting in a combination between local and Big 4 accounting firms. He has served clients in several industries, specializing in construction, manufacturing, distribution, retail, non-for-profit entities, real estate,
commercial banking and international financial entities, international banking entities, airlines, and government. He has participated in a variety of attestation and consulting engagement, including extensive experience in integrated audits under Regulation 404 -Sarbanes Oxley (SOX). He specializes in the design of internal control and evaluation of the operating effectiveness, risk assessments, documentation of processes, narratives, walkthroughs, and flowcharts. Also, he has assisted in various forensic engagements in the health industry, litigation supports, and the development of corporate tax structures.
His experience also includes a wide range in consulting services in addition to audit and accounting, including but not limited to corporate and individual taxation, financial and operational advice in the areas of business development, fraud investigations, litigation support, and strategic planning. Furthermore, he has served the private and governmental sectors in designing and developing the allowance for loan losses methodology, computation, and reporting.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants. He possesses a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a master’s degree in finances, and prestigious
licenses as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Charter Global Management Accountant (CGMA)
